2010 Brazil Work & Witness Trip
We are raising funds for our 2010 Brazil Work & Witness trip. Here are the various ways YOU can help. Most of these fundraisers are ongoing and will continue to help fund future trips to Kenya or local projects in the Philadelphia area. We’re counting on you to help us!! You can help us raise funds:
When you're thinking green...
Have you noticed the large green and yellow Paper Retriever dumpster near the front church parking lot and wondered what it is? Both the church office and the Missions Team researched the Paper Retriever program since the church was looking for a way to recycle all of the old or excess paper, and the Missions Team was looking for a method to raise money for the Work & Witness trip.
Did you also know that we earn money for paper that is dropped off at our green and yellow recycling bin? You can help both the environment and the Missions Team by collecting all of your papers and then dropping them off any time of the week. Obviously the more we collect the more we earn. Payment is based on the amount collected each month according to the following schedule: 1 to 3 tons = $5/ton;4 to 7 tons = $15/ton; 8+ = $20
You can recycle: Paper, newspapers, catalogs, magazines, junk mail, weekly advertisement circulars, TV Guides, folders, construction and poster paper, shredded paper (in a bag), spiral notebook/theme books (hard cover & back removed), and office and church mail! But please no carboard or phonebooks.
Remember to let your neighbors know they can contribute to our church as well! Do you know of a local business, print shop, grocery store, drug store or post office? Ask them to bring their paper to our bin or offer to pick it up! There is no financial commitment from you, just bring us your unwanted paper!
Thank you for your year-round support of this important fundraising effort! Every time our bin is full, our church saves 17 trees from being cut cown.
